The New DevKick

So, finally it’s done and DevKick has just grown into something bigger. Here is a quick summary of what has happened and what will happen.
The Blog
There was never a thought of having a webdev blog on DevKick, but since I write a lot of web development articles in my kitchen, I might as well start putting them here instead. I also have a bunch of posts with personal collections of resources from me and my colleagues that I intend to release in public, and a blog seems like a pretty good way of doing that.
Besides those reasons, a blog is a familiar communication channel for most visitors and hopefully some interesting discussions will spark.
We intend to put a lot of “getting started” posts in here with guides and tips for beginner developers who would like to dig into it some more as well as classic lists of resources so you’ll have them all in one place. I also intend to write about new development projects like the Galleria and Tripoli in here, so make sure you grab the RSS Feed before you leave.
The Design
The new DevKick needed some new clothes, but it’s not all set just yet. But it’s a start. Hopefully you’ll find it appealing without interfering with readability. IE6 has not been taken care of just yet, since my multiple IE just crashed, but it will be tamed in time.
The soon-to-come section “Talk”
We all hate those “coming soon” pages. But the forum will come. Very very soon. Really.
The Future
Besides the forum, the future will likely hold even more interaction between members and visitors. Members of this site will be able to promote and communicate externally with our site visitors in a new way. Comments, votes etc. will have a place as well, but I’m not entirely sure how and why.
Enjoy The Site!

I really like to come back to your site, but I’ve to honestly say, that I liked the old look quite a lot better.
Everything seems quite crammed and tight due to the very dark colors.
The new design contains a few nice details and looks very carefully done, though. Well, I guess in the end it comes down to taste, right?

@trice: thank you for your comment. I guess different visitors prefer different layouts when it comes to readability. I hope I can release a negate function in the near future, by just switching the CSS to a positive variant of the current design for those who prefer that.

I actually just did add a negative/positive switch in the menu. Hopefully that helps.

The switch actually helps (me) but it btw. works only after the second click.
And don’t mind my taste too much anyway. I think you’re doing a great job (I e.g. love the way you present the possibility to read the docs, watch a demo and download right next to each other and not have to crawl through a bunch of sub–pages first) and the design is great as well. I’m just saying that for me personally the earlier version with less visual “noise” worked better.
Anyhow, keep up the good work,

David, love the new design although it took me some time to get used to reading against a dark background, which I don’t usually like.
I contacted you recently about the older DevKick header graphic. I’d like to consider buying it! I haven’t heard from you as you are no doubt busy, or think I’m mad, or both! ;-)
