Any other software suggested for gallery preview?

I got the gallery to work properly now.  The idea on my site is that users will click the gallery link and it will take them to a page that allows them to visit any of the galleries I create.  Putting just a hyperlink and an image for them to click on seems a little bland.  Maybe some nice fade ins would work.  Has anyone done that or have any other suggestions for creating like a gallery preview/selection page?
